Team Spotted Pest Spotters

Team Spotted Pest Spotters is predicting the risk of invasive insects, specifically the spotted lanternfly and spotted wing drosophila, to apple orchards in Connecticut and Massachusetts over the next 27 years by pairing species distribution models with information gathered from local farmers. They ultimately plan to communicate this risk to farmers to minimize the negative impact of invasive insects on orchard yield and profit. May 4, 2023 Project Presentation.
